Our launch event inside Babies "R" Us in Allen yesterday was a huge hit! We met lots of nice, new people and are excited for our second launch event on the 19th. Because yesterday's event was such a success and because we were at capacity, we will have to limit the number of spots for the event on the 19th. This will be our final FREE event before we begin booking the class to be held at this location. If you'd like to join us, simply email your child's name and age to kindermusikloveandgrow@gmail.com!

Introducing: Cuddle & Bounce

Ages Newborn - 12 months
Cuddle, bounce, and bop with your baby in Kindermusik's newest curriculum. Whether your baby is five weeks or five months, this class will be perfect for you! With age-appropriate activities for newborns, infants and crawlers, this parent-child music and movement class will help you strengthen those early parent-child bonds, understand your baby’s development, and heavily focus on child development and communication with your baby. You and your baby will enjoy instrument play, dance, exploration time, and together time—and you’ll get expert advice and parenting resources based on the most recent research in baby development.

Our Fall semester will debut the following Cuddle & Bounce classes:

• Monday at 12:30p.m. in Allen
• Tuesday at 9:30a.m. in Allen
• Thursday at 12:00p.m. in McKinney

FREE Event: Bubble Party

We are pleased to announce that we are hosting another FREE event. Please join us for a fun morning of bubble play! This event is for children of all ages so feel free to invite your friends!

What: Bubble Play

Time: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Towne Lake Park, McKinney (1405 Wilson Creek Parkway @ Central Expressway)

There are many developmental benefits to bubble play. For toddlers and infants in particular, bubble play helps with hand-eye coordination, motor skills and language development and so much more!

This article touches on the benefits and provides a simple recipe to make at home. Here is an in-depth  article that talks about using bubbles to teach about body parts, follow instructions and improve cognitive skills. Lastly, this article discusses some unique ideas for bubble play, including foods with "bubbles."

Motor Skill Development: Easter Edition

We love to hear from our Kindermusik Moms what you're doing to simulate and educate your children at home! Kindermusik Mom Shara recently shared an idea with us to capitalize on Easter, that allows you to get more use out of those plastic eggs!

Shara took a few eggs and filled them with healthy snacks for her adorable daughter Elaina. Inside the eggs were items such as pretzels and fruit. Elaina loved the novelty of seeing the eggs, and it is very beneficial for toddlers around Elaina's age (12-24 months) to practice opening the eggs and trying to fit the halves back together! Easy motor skill practice at home!

Introducing Susan Geffen!

We are very pleased to introduce to you the newest Member of the Kindermusik Love and Grow family, Susan Geffen!

Ms. Susan is a licensed Kindermusik educator who has been teaching arts education to children since she was in high school. Music is her calling, and she is active as an educator, a pianist, a speaker, a piano adjudicator, and even as a managing editor of Clavier Companion, a magazine devoted to the piano and piano pedagogy. Her M.A. (under the tutelage of composer Robert Rodríguez) is from the University of Texas at Dallas, and she has a Permanent Professional Certification from the Music Teachers National Association. She is also a member of the Music Critics Association of North America.

Whether her students are three or seventy-three, Ms. Susan believes that music enriches every life and that Kindermusik classes are an exciting, joyful, and meaningful way for children to begin their musical journeys. 

Look for Ms. Susan to be teaching the following classes: Village in Allen (Wednesdays), Young Child 2 in Allen (Fridays),  as well as Village and Our Time in Firewheel (Tuesdays).
